Appennino si trova sulla cima di un colle, sovrastato dal castello. Presenta la struttura dell’importante castello (perno del quadrilatero feudale del Malagotti), le poderose cinta murarie, la porta trecentesca, il rincorrersi di vicoli fino alla chiesa di S. Pietro.
Appennino is a cascade of old houses that seem to tumble out of the hill, presided over by the castle. Part of the imposing structure of the castle (centrepiece of the Magalotti’s feudal four-sided stronghold) are the massive outer walls, the 14thC. doorway, the alleyways running as far as the church of S. Pietro.
